Operation save Schapelle.
Everyone in Australia has his or her own opinion on whether or not Schapelle Corby is innocent.
As it has been mentioned before in a way her situation has somewhat followed that of Lindy Chamberlain in her unfortunate quest to maintain her innocence in 1980 when again the whole country and world for that matter had their opinions and judgements on her.
Like alot of people I speak to whether it be friends around the table at a dinner party, fellow mother's awaiting their childrens arrival at the school gate or over hearing people in the queue at the supermarket, everyone it seems is speaking about it and the majority believe that she is in fact innocent and are horrified and shaken to have watched the verdict on friday and witness her be sentenced to 20years.
Wendy and I watched it in front of the gas heater at her place and were reduced to tears as we watched 20 years of a fellow Australians life,a woman not much older then us be locked away in a filthy cell in a foreign country along with her freedom and dreams.
I think the thing that has rocked Australia and I guess our age group is the fact that it could of so easily been one of us, so many of my friends that I hold close to my heart have travelled to Bali in the past couple of years not only Bali but other parts of the world and to think that this could of happened to one of them horrifies me, and to think there is a couple of arsehole baggage handlers sitting back saying something like "Whoops wrong bag ah Bob lucky we got that coke but hey".
I can't believe some Australian and sorry to say fellas but male is there with the knowledge that Schapelle Corby is infact innocent but is too much of a coward to stand up and be a man and say "Hey yeah no she's telling the truth" but after 7mths the prospect of that happening is wearing thin, our only hope now is that karma comes and bites them on the ass, big time.
In the meantime Schapelle still remains incarcerated in apparently the same cell as the smiling bomber or whatever he was dubbed with 20 other inmates, and as I have learn't from reading 'Marching Powder - a true story on San Pedro jail Sth America written by Australian lawyer Rusty Young, a foreign inmate in a jail is a prime target and the fact that she is female is even more scarier.
I truely feel a need to help this girl hey guys and am in the process of writing letters to
Danna Vale-local member of Parliment
Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Alexandra Downing
Indonesian embassy in Australia
I also have an address for her and am intending on writing some letters and poems etc even putting a little 'care pack' together for her to hopefully warm her heart as she lives through a time in her life I can't even find words to explain what it must be like for her.
If you feel the same her address is:
Schapelle Corby
c/o Australian Consulate General
Jalan Hayam Wuruk
No 88B Tanjung
Bungkak
Denpasar, Bali
80234.
And remember if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.
not that any of you would but I think only positive remarks should be sent.
Some of you may think I'm crazy but I guess if you can do even something little it may help someone somewhere and thats all that really matters, it doesnt cost anything to do good will so why not share it out!
THE BALI BOYCOTT
Ok fair enough a high percentage of Balinese people do believe that Schapelle is guilty but is boycotting the country the answer?
As we all know Bali depends on its thriving tourism for the majority of their income and I suppose business is just returning to usual after the first blow to hit the shores in 2002 when the bali bombers hit, then i guess in a round about kind of way the tsunami wouldnt of helped and now this, but could we honestly deny the balinese people, the children money for food and education? though I've never been to Bali their furniture is my favourite! and I couldnt bring myself to deny the kids mostly that.
I guess you can't underestimate the old aussie spirit when one of us needs help its good to see that people are actually making a stand something I thought was almost lost in our country at times.
I have also heard that there is talk of boycotting QANTAS because of its part with its shonky baggage handlers who seem to move more then your bags, but again what is that really going to do make them pack shit for a couple of weeks or months but even the bloody chairman of QANTAS or the bloke that makes those jumbo's don't have the power to change those indonesian judges verdict, he may be able to put his giant metal birds in the sky but is helpless when it comes to returning Schapelle Corby's freedom to her.And that is the saddest thing because as Australians we live our life believing that freedom is for free (apart from if you have been to jail:( ) and this has come as quite a wake up call for I have come to learn that freedom is in fact priceless.
Though you may feel that your hands are tied with this and you are left to wonder what one small voice could possibly do?
Or perhaps you think she is guilty?
Whatever the case does a young Australia woman deserve to have to spend 20 years in a filthy vermon infestited jail cell over populated by about 17 people?
Doesnt she deserve clean water to drink?
Doesnt she deserve to be where her parents and loved ones can visit her to ease the burden a little on her hefty sentence?
Even if she was silly to commit such a stupid crime- to walk into a terminal with grim reminders of the cost drug traffickers pay plasted on all walls for all to acknowledge, though I sincerly doubt it- but doesn't her mother and father deserve their child close by?
What if in 20 years it was your daughter in Schapelles shoes?
It may not be easy for the Corby's to pack up and move their whole lives to Schapelle's side and then why would they want to live in a country that has done them so wrong why not fight to bring her home where she belongs.

I totally agree with you! Schapelle guilty or not (and i do sincerely think the lata) should be allowed to serve her sentence in AUSTRALIA. She deserves to be in her own country and with loved ones not in a strange filthy grotty cell all alone. Whether truly guilty or not she doesnt deserve to be serving such an awful sentence, i mean the amount of yrs she got was bad enought and now she has to spend them over there! It's just wrong! FRRE SCHAPELLE!!! Bring her home!
As for the whole boycott issue i think thats just plain petty the balinese have dont nothing wrong at all, well except from the majority believing she is guilty, but think about it THEY shouldnt suffer because of their belief and because she went to their country! They deserve to get their lives back on track after all the turmoil they have been through over the last few yrs! So basically whether your on Schapelle's side or not she deserves the right to be brought home and the balinese deserve their right to better their lives and their economy!
